Charlene Krepakevich

Charlene Krepakevich served as the Executive Director of the Vancouver International Marathon Society (VIMS) from 2006 to 2011, where she played a pivotal role in growing the BMO Vancouver Marathon. Under her leadership, the event saw a 40% increase in participant numbers, a 25% growth in sponsorships, and a 344% rise in volunteer engagement. She was instrumental in establishing the RUNVAN® brand, transforming the BMO Vancouver Marathon into an internationally recognized race, and solidifying Vancouver’s position as a premier destination for runners. Charlene’s work helped elevate the marathon’s profile, both locally and globally, driving the event to new heights of success.

Currently, Charlene serves as the Chief Executive Officer of viaSport British Columbia, a partner of RUNVAN, where she leads efforts to enhance amateur sport participation across the province. Through her work, she continues to impact the sport community, fostering the growth of sport and promoting inclusivity, health, and well-being.
