DAVE DOROUGHY

Dave Doroghy has been an important part of RUNVAN since joining the Board of Directors in 2015. He has helped guide the organization behind the BMO Vancouver Marathon, bringing his experience, steady leadership, and genuine love for running. He ran his first marathon in Vancouver in 1986 and has since completed more than a dozen marathons and half-marathons locally and abroad, including New York and Boston.

Beyond his work with RUNVAN, Dave has remained deeply rooted in Vancouver. His sports marketing career includes leadership roles with the Vancouver Grizzlies and other professional teams, as well as serving on Olympic bid sponsorships for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games and London 2012 Summer Games. He has also taught Sports Marketing at BCIT for more than twenty years.

A storyteller at heart, Dave co-authored 111 Places in Vancouver That You Must Not Miss, sharing his love for the city and a curiosity for its hidden gems. Through his combination of local involvement, global experience, and personal passion for running, he continues to be a valued voice in Vancouver’s sporting and running community.
