STEVE KING
Steve King is a well-known voice in Vancouver’s running and triathlon community, celebrated for his work as a race announcer, athlete, and advocate for sport. Over the years, his voice has become synonymous with major local events, including the BMO Vancouver Marathon.
An accomplished endurance athlete himself, Steve has competed in ultramarathon distances, Ironman and Ultraman triathlons, and represented Canada on the 100 km national team. He’s held national age-group records and achieved standout performances, such as finishing the 135-mile Death Valley race.
Beyond competing, Steve brings depth through his work as a clinical counsellor, author, and commentator. He holds a B.Sc. in Health and Human Services, is a registered clinical counsellor, and creates content on resilience, trauma, and authenticity. His contributions to sport and community were recognized in 2012 when he was inducted into the BC Athletics Hall of Fame.
Through his work as an announcer, mentor, and athlete, Steve King continues to shape Vancouver’s running community.
