Vancouver, BC – October 13, 2025 – The 2025 Granville Island Turkey Trot was a spectacular celebration of community, fitness, and Thanksgiving spirit. The Thanksgiving tradition welcomes over 2,000 participants annually, along with their families, friends, and supporters, to enjoy a festive day of running around scenic Granville Island.
A Sold-Out Tradition and Thanksgiving Spirit
Both the signature 10KM and the Kids Run sold out well in advance, showcasing just how beloved this Thanksgiving tradition has become. Runners and walkers of all levels hit the beautiful False Creek Seawall course, with many dressed in creative and festive costumes that brought even more colour to the event.
“Today was the perfect day to showcase Granville Island,” says Race Director Eric Chéné. “With the 10KM and Kids Run both underway and so many familiar faces among our volunteers, it’s clear how much this tradition means to the community.”
Community Highlights and Treats for All
In true Granville Island Turkey Trot fashion, the post-race celebration was as memorable as the run itself. After receiving their medals designed in part by Musqueam artist Darryl Blyth, while the other side features the iconic landmarks on the reverse side, participants enjoyed full-size non-alcoholic beer cans from Stanley Park Brewing, samples from Happy Planet, and of course, Lee’s Donuts – a Granville Island must-have and must-visit was handed out to every finisher.
Race Results and Standout Performances
The 10KM Granville Island Turkey Trot featured outstanding performances once again, with top runners pushing through the crisp fall air to claim podium spots.

Age Category Champions across multiple age groups also received special gold, silver and bronze age category awards.
In the Kids Run, young athletes brought their best, with thrilling sprints and lots of smiles.
Jocelyne Chéné once again shone in the youth field finishing in 3:42, breaking her own record of 3:45 set in 2024. Amber Lin claimed second place with a time of 04:25, followed by Maiya Tran in third at 04:29.
In the boys’ division, Lev Finkel led the way in 4:04, with Tasha McCarthy close behind at 4:07, and Kaiden Howell rounding out the top three in 4:08.
Giving Back and Giving Thanks
Beyond the running, the Granville Island Turkey Trot raised over $8,000 for local charities, including the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Surrey Food Bank, and SHARE Family and Community Services, continuing its legacy of community impact.
Volunteers once again proved to be the heart of the race. “Volunteers are truly the champions of this event,” adds Chéné. “Rain or shine, they’re out there with smiles, keeping everything flowing smoothly. We couldn’t do it without them.”
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who participated, cheered, and volunteered. The Granville Island Turkey Trot has become a Thanksgiving weekend tradition in Vancouver, and we can’t wait to welcome you all back next year!
