More than 25,000 participants took part in the 2026 BMO Vancouver Marathon weekend on May 3, bringing together runners from around the world for a day of competition, community and celebration.

Japan’s Kosuke Fujiwara won the men’s marathon in 2:22:03, followed by Canada’s Russell Pennock (2:22:33) and American Zachary Anderson (2:23:30).

The women’s marathon delivered a record-breaking finish as the Netherlands’ Mikky Keetels won in 2:33:02, setting a new event record. Vancouver Olympian Dayna Pidhoresky finished second in 2:33:27, also surpassing the previous record, while American Madison Hibshman placed third in 2:39:52.

Canadian Olympian Natasha Wodak broke her own event record to win the women’s half marathon in 1:12:01. Max Turek claimed the men’s half marathon title in 1:03:29, recording the second-fastest time in the event’s history.

Thousands of spectators cheered runners through Vancouver’s neighbourhoods, Stanley Park and waterfront, with community Cheer Stations and Block Parties creating a festive atmosphere.

Beyond the finish line, participants raised more than $260,000 for charity through RUN4HOPE. Since the program began, runners have contributed more than $17 million to community organizations and social impact initiatives.

RUNVAN and the BMO Vancouver Marathon extend their thanks to the more than 3,000 volunteers, partners and event stakeholders who helped make the 2026 event possible.
