Jerome Classic

BURNABY, BC – June 25, 2025 — Canada’s longest-running track and field meet, the Jerome Classic, returns to Swangard Stadium on Tuesday, July 15, bringing over 200 athletes from around the world, including Olympians, national champions, and rising stars.

The Jerome Classic is a world-class athletics showcase and a key stop on the World Athletics Continental Tour.

This year’s elite field includes Olympians and World Championship medalists:

  • Sarah Mitton (CAN) – Two-time Olympian and World Silver Medalist in Shot Put
  • Charles Philibert-Thiboutot (CAN) – Two-time Olympian, Canadian 10,000m record holder, competing in the 1500m
  • Jean-Simon Desgagnés (CAN) – Olympian and Pan Am gold medalist, also racing the 1500m
  • Olivia Lundman (CAN) – B.C. native and Olympian, competing in the 3000m Race Walk
  • Evan Dunfee (CAN) – B.C. native, Olympic bronze medalist and fan favourite in Race Walk
  • Rowan Hamilton (CAN) – Paris 2024 Olympian from B.C., returning for the Hammer Throw
  • Regan Yee (CAN) – 2x Olympian and local favourite from B.C., running the 3000m
  • Jessica Ramsey (USA) – Olympic Shot Putter
  • Cravon Gillespie (USA) – World Championship relay medalist, 100m sprinter
  • Malachi Murray (CAN) – Olympian, 100m sprinter

Andrew Davies, winner of the 2025 First Half Marathon and 2025 BMO Vancouver Half Marathon, also joins the field to compete in the 3000m.

Joining the field is Marie-Éloïse Leclair, the 2024 & 2025 Clement Scholarship recipient and SFU sprinter who represented Canada in the 4x100m relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The scholarship helps top Canadian athletes thrive at home.

The Jerome Classic will also feature an exciting lineup of Para Athletics, showcasing Canadian Paralympians and national team members including Greg Stewart (Shot Put), Charlotte Bolton (Shot Put), Renee Foessel (Discus), and Amanda Rummery (W 400m). These athletes bring world-class performances and continue to push the boundaries of excellence.

Athletes will compete for World Athletics ranking points in a meet known for showcasing remarkable sportsmanship, record-setting performances, and international-caliber competition.

Junior Jerome

New this year, the Junior Jerome event takes place on Sunday, July 13, offering youth aged 9–13 the opportunity to compete on the same track as elite athletes. Each entry includes admission to the main ticketed Jerome Classic at Swangard Stadium on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
