Granville Island Turkey Trot: A Festive Thanksgiving Tradition Returns for 2023, Kids Run Is Back!

Get ready to lace up your running shoes and embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving with the highly anticipated return of the Granville Island Turkey Trot! This beloved community event, known for its scenic route and festive atmosphere, is set to take place on Thanksgiving Monday, October 9, 2023.

    • Access: Free parking on Granville Island till 1PM race day
    • Vehicle access on Granville Island closed 8am-9:30am

The Granville Island Turkey Trot, presented by RUNVAN®, is a family-friendly 10KM run, walk, and stroll that starts at Granville Island. The route takes runners over the iconic Burrard Bridge, along the scenic Seawall with stunning views of False Creek, before turning at Science World, and heading back along the Seawall to the Finish Line on Granville Island. This event is not only an excellent way to burn off those extra Thanksgiving calories but also a perfect opportunity to gather with friends and family for a heartwarming experience.

New for 2023: The Kids Run is back and it’s timed!
In response to popular demand we are excited to announce the return of the Kids Run. Children ages 6-12 can now join in on the Thanksgiving fun with a 1KM route just for them. It’s a fantastic way to get the whole family involved in this Thanksgiving tradition.

Participants are encouraged to embrace the Thanksgiving theme by donning their best turkey-themed costumes. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative and festive outfits, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.
