Grand Finale of the RUNVAN Race Series
RUNVAN returns the Great Trek presented by BlueShore Financial, the final race of the year in the RUNVAN Race Series. On Saturday, October 26, 2024, this highly anticipated event welcomes runners of all levels tackling scenic routes across UBC’s beautiful campus and SW Marine Drive, for a jaunt through Musqueam Territory.

- Time: 8:30am Half Marathon Start, 10:30am 10KM Start, 12pm 5KM Start, 12:20pm Relay
- Location: UBC Campus, Vancouver, BC
- Registration: SOLD OUT
- Distances: 21.1KM, 10KM, 5KM, 36.1KM RUNVAN Hat-Trick, and 5KM UBC Student Relay
Participants receive a stylish race shirt or toque if opted in, or runners had the option to select a green bib to save on entry. All finishers receive a beautifully crafted event medal designed by Musqueam artist Darryl Blyth, with new medal artwork featuring iconic landmarks around the course. The combination of lush forests, coastal vistas, and university architecture makes this one of the most scenic and unique runs in BC.
This year, the course will come alive with live music performed by UBC student groups along key points, adding a special energy to the race day atmosphere. Musqueam performances also return with Indigenous group Tsatsu Stalqayu.
Additionally, event organisers are excited to announce a new prize for runners who may be able to break the Event Records dating back to 1997, across any of the event’s individual race distances. Only the winning time will receive the new reward for the 21.1KM, 10KM and/or 5KM records. As an aside, the fun RUNVAN Hat-trick records are 2:10:21, Drew Nicholson (2022), and 2:35:29, Emma Thompson (2021).
