RUNVAN® Hat-Trick shirts, and Discovery Runs for BMO Vancouver Marathon

February 1, 2017

Update: Early RUNVAN® Hat-trick participants this year will receive a complimentary RYU Vapor Tee Top.

The local non-profit Vancouver International Marathon Society has teamed up with new local urban athletic apparel brand RYU (Respect Your Universe) to reward runners and help motivate them on their journeys to the BMO Vancouver Marathon, Granville Island Turkey Trot and Fall Classic.

RUNVAN® Hat-Trick runners, or those who complete the BMO Vancouver Marathon (May 7), Granville Island Turkey Trot (October 10) and Fall Classic (November 12) in the same calendar year, will receive many great benefits, including medals for all.

The first 400 to sign-up for the RUNVAN® Hat-Trick when sales open in March will now also receive a complimentary long-sleeve Vapor top by RYU as a motivator and thank you.

RYU will further support RUNVAN® Discovery Runs along the BMO Vancouver Marathon and Half Marathon courses on February 18 and March 4. The Discovery Runs, to showcase the beautiful BMO Vancouver Marathon routes and connect runners, will start at 9am and finish at RYU Kits at 1745 W 4th Ave.

“This is a great opportunity to collaborate with another innovative local company, to reward our runners, and bring them together in fun social settings,” adds Graeme White, Executive Director of the local non-profit Vancouver International Marathon Society.

More than 10,000 runners, from over 50 countries, have already signed-up for the world-class BMO Vancouver Marathon and Half Marathon in May, pacing registrations ahead of last year’s record setting number that also helped raise over $400,000 for charity.

The Granville Island Turkey Trot and Fall Classic both sold-out last year as well, leading to the highest finisher count across those events’ 20-year histories.

“It’s a testament to our strong roots in the community,” says Graeme White, Executive Director. “As a non-profit with the goal to promote healthy, active lifestyles, and be a community connector, we truly value our local communities, engage year-round, and are always looking to add value for our runners, spectators and volunteers.”

The Vancouver International Marathon Society wholly operates Vancouver’s only marathon event which dates back to 1972, and relies on the support of nearly 4,000 volunteers annually to deliver its strong race offerings.

RYU, standing for ‘Respect Your Universe’, designs its urban athletic apparel in Vancouver, BC and Squamish, BC, Canada.
